It was a horrible experience. The treatment I received on my wedding day, despite paying ₹1.5 lakh for a single-day booking, was deeply disappointing. More than anything, I felt embarrassed and ashamed in front of my guests because of the extremely rude and disrespectful behavior of the female manager who was responsible for coordinating the event. While the property itself is clean, well-maintained, and the owner is polite, the event management was an absolute nightmare. Let me explain: 1. Rude and disrespectful behavior toward guests The manager repeatedly spoke disrespectfully to several of our guests throughout the day. Many guests later informed us that they felt insulted and humiliated by the way they were treated by her. As hosts, it was extremely embarrassing for us to witness this on our wedding day. 2. Unexpected restrictions on catering staff and delay in food service We were informed at the last moment that our caterer's serving staff would not be allowed, especially during the election season, as our caterer was not a resident of Kolkata and that we had to hire serving staff from the venue. This condition was never discussed during booking and was not mentioned in the agreement. Despite agreeing to this unexpected demand, the serving staff provided by the venue refused to serve food even at 7:30 p.m., saying they were waiting for their higher authority's approval, which caused unnecessary confusion and inconvenience to our guests. 3. No food service or even drinking water after the ceremony After the wedding, when the bride and groom finally sat down for dinner, there were no serving staff available. Even more shocking, no drinking water was provided. When water was requested, the response was: "It is 3 a.m. How can we provide water now?" This was completely unacceptable and one of the most disappointing moments of the entire event. 4. No parking or traffic management The venue is located on the main road and has virtually no dedicated parking space. Despite this obvious challenge, there was no representative from the hall to manage guest arrivals or traffic. My family members had to handle the situation themselves while the manager behaved rudely toward our guests instead of assisting them. 5. Forced evacuation immediately after the wedding Our wedding ceremony started around 12:00 a.m., yet we were asked to vacate the premises by approximately 1:30 a.m., just after the ritual. We were not even given sufficient time to properly gather our belongings after one of the most important events of our lives. 6. Disrespectful treatment towards the photographers and videographers The manager also asked our photographers and videographers to leave, citing security concerns because I was wearing gold jewellery. This created unnecessary difficulties in completing the wedding coverage and added to the overall stress of the event. 7. Lack of professionalism in handling minor issues At one point, a few members of the wedding procession went to the rooftop, which was apparently prohibited. As soon as I was informed, I apologized and assured her that they would leave immediately. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she chose to create a scene and behaved aggressively toward the guests. 8. Arbitrary restrictions that were never communicated We were informed that even a single firecracker could not be used during the arrival of the wedding procession. While we respect venue rules, this restriction was never communicated beforehand nor mentioned in the agreement. A wedding is meant to be remembered as one of the happiest days of a person's life. Unfortunately, this venue turned ours into a stressful and humiliating experience. I strongly advise future couples and families to obtain every rule, restriction, and service commitment in writing before booking this hall. I would not recommend this venue based on my experience.
